The Natural Heritage Foundation of Castile and León, Spain is in the public sector of the Region of Castilla and León, dedicated to disclosure, value and management of the natural heritage of the region as well as the development of actions for environmental education and awareness and implementation and coordination of the Regional Sustainable Development Strategy.

To carry out this task, the Foundation manages different equipment for sustainability and environmental education such as the network of "Casas del Parque" (visitors and education centres in Natural Parks) and other topic centres of the protected natural spaces of the region (34 today), as well as the PRAE (the environmental resources and sustainability centre of Castilla y León), and the network of information and environmental documentation centres of the region.

For the achievement of these objectives under the agreement of the Board of Trustees, the Foundation carries out the following actions:

• Management, maintenance and operation of the centres dependent on the Ministry of environment will be mandated by it (houses of the Park, centers for bird recovery, classrooms of the River,...).
• Courses, seminaries and attendance to national and international fairs of promotion of the Network of Natural Spaces of Castilla y Leon.
• Diffusion and citizen awareness activities promoting the importance of the Natural heritage in the regional idiosyncrasy.
• Restoration, cleaning, maintenance of the natural environment
• Edition of magazines, books, brochures, posters as well as its distribution and Sale
• Accomplishment of divulging campaigns in educational centres
• Establishment of collaboration agreements in the field of research and development and application of new technologies to natural means.
• Establishment of collaboration agreements with physical and legal people for the execution of certain projects.
• To establish lines of grants and financial support to physical and legal people relative to specific programs of defence of natural means in the Network of Natural Protected Areas of Castilla y Leon.
• Support and technical, legal, documentary and economic collaboration to people, citizen associations, organizations and organisms of any type involved in the protection of environment.
• Land management and operation of properties belonging to Castilla and Leon affecting the conservation of the Nature.
